More than half of the market motherboards from Asus and Gigabyte


Asustek Computer and Gigabyte Technology hold the first place regard to the delivery of motherboards last 2012: the two companies have in fact Taiwanese respectively delivered 22 and19 million motherboards under its own brand in the market do-it-yourself, going together to constitute 51.3% of total deliveries in the sector amounted to 80 million units.

The gap between the direct pursuers is quite large: according to the information provided by the sources cited by Digitimes website, ASRock and MSI have in fact given 7.7 and 5 million motherboards under its own brand.

As further evidence of how the Chinese market is becoming more and more important in the technological landscape, it is estimated that in China have been delivered about 28 million motherboards in 2012, or 35% of the total. Intel has decided to get off the motherboard market under its own brand, annual sales of approximately five million units will be divided mainly from Asustek, Gigabyte, ASRock and ECS, which has embarked on the manufacture of motherboards for Intel ODM.

Dell, discontent among shareholders on the offer of acquisition.
